Kanchanrup. On the first day, 163 people underwent cataract surgery on the first day of the two-day free eye camp in Rupnagar, Kanchanrup Municipality, Saptari.
Tilganga Kanchanrup Surgical Eye Center Rupnagar, Tilganga Eye Institute Gaushala Kathmandu, Kanchanrup Municipality and Kriti Community Health Treatment Center Rupnagar have conducted an eye camp since Monday.
Inaugurating the camp, Lalan Prasad Gupta, city chief of Kanchanrup municipality, said that the treatment of cataract by free surgery on a sensitive organ like the eye is an achievement for the poor.He also expressed his commitment to continue support and cooperation in the matter of health related to human life.
Deputy Chief Munakumari Pokharel said that Tilganga running a health camp for free in a backward area like village home is an achievement for this place. He also promised to feed khichadi to the patients who underwent eye surgery.
Basant Mishra, the former mayor of Kanchanrup Municipality, reminded that eye health camps have been running free of charge since the year he became mayor.In this camp, so far, people from India, Sunsari, Udaipur, Siraha have been treated free of charge through cataract surgery and thanked Tilganga.
Santosh Thapa, a patient who underwent cataract surgery, came to a village like ours and expressed his happiness saying that it is nothing but a boon for us to be treated by free cataract surgery at Tilganga.Bachulal Choudhary, said that when we said to the poor, we don't have money, but it would have been a problem to go far away for treatment, but we were happy to be able to treat cataracts free of charge at our own place.
Anil Saud of Tilganga Kanchanpur Surgical Rupnagar said that on the first day of the camp on Monday, 163 people underwent surgery and treated cataract patients.The team led by doctor Shyam Beas of Tilganga Eye Institute Kathmandu treated the eye patients.
The camp was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Amar Shrestha, President of Kriti Community Health Treatment Center Rupnagar
